I have been singing most of my life in school and church choirs and in school talent shows. Once I found the wonderful sound of barbershop harmony, I was hooked. I sang tenor with the Greater Kingston Chorus of Sweet Adelines from 1992 until I moved to Brockville in 2008. I was looking for another singing venue when I saw the ad for Christmas Voices with the Thousand Islanders Chorus. I attend my first rehearsal in Nov. 2009 and jumped in with both feet getting involved with wardrobe and soon became the Wardrobe Chair, and a Board and Music Committee member.
I have also become part of a new quartet called NewDay. We gave our debut perfomance in Oct. at a benefit dinner. I am so happy to have found such a wonderful, caring and fun-loving group of ladies who have welcomed me with open arms and hearts, to sing and share in the harmony that is Barbershop. No better way to spend my new found 'spare' time of retirement!

I have been a member of the Thousand Islanders Chorus for thirty years and, needless to say, have seen many changes in the group over that time. However, one aspect which has remained a constant is the joy and satisfaction of singing four part harmony with like-minded ladies. There is nothing else like it! I have made many friends and continue to learn so much from our talented directors. We work hard on our music and have fun doing it. I hope to continue singing with the T.I.'s for a long time to come.
