Singing has always been an important part of my life from a very early age. My family would often gather around the piano and with a guitar or 2 on hand, we would "jam" for a couple of hours. I have been involved in several singing groups from choirs to duets and trios in the past. After living in Brockville for several years, singing seemed to be taking a back seat, until 4 years ago when I came across an ad in the newspaper for The Thousand Islanders Chorus. I have always wanted to try singing Barbershop but never thought I would ever have that opportunity. I went out to a rehearsal and never looked back. I was hooked!! I love singing a capella and the harmony that the barbershop style offers, has fullfilled the musical void I had in my life. Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to have been asked to join a quartet, The FourTune Seekers. We have a lot of fun at our weekly rehearsals but it is also very rewarding as we entertain at many functions in the area. I will always treasure the women who have come into my life through the Thousand Islanders Chorus. They are a fun loving and vibrant group of ladies, who share the love of Barbershop.

Looking for a group that would challenge my vocal ability, I found the TI Chorus fit the bill. Not only have I developed vocal and administrative skills, but the friendships that I have made are dear to my heart. After I retired from teaching, I have had the opportunity to sing in a quaret called the FourTune Seekers. What a delight it has been for me to entertain in seniors’ homes, at banquets, churches and community events with my singing friends.

I joined the Thousand Islanders Chorus in 1975 and have been a full-time member since then except for a few months when we were building /renovating our home. Since public school I have been a member of several choirs, but I particularly love singing a cappella and the way we strive for excellence in sound and visual performance. The women that I meet are inspirational and full of fun. I can't imagine my life without the T.I.'s!
