Installation 2021

Little did we know at our Installation of 2020, that we would be doing another one this year via zoom.  It was a good evening but will be so much better when we can meet in person!  Thanks to Jo who was our installation officer this year!

Congratulations to Stuart, Director Extraordinare,  for being chosen as our 2021 Barbershopper of the Year, a well deserved honour!  Stuart has continually brought his knowledge to every zoom rehearsal we have had over the past year to stretch us to keep improving our vocal production!  Now to meet again and practice what he has brought to all of us!  Congratulations Stuart!

Cally Tripp

January 28, 1941-January 27,2021

Our dear friend has lost her battle with cancer

and we are left with a huge void in our hearts, our chorus and our quartet.

We will miss you always!

Tribute to Cally Tripp

We accumulate many precious memories along life’s road,

And when grief befalls, they can help to lighten the load. Our fond memories of Cally Tripp are deep in our hearts,
From gathering to sing in harmony with all the four parts.

Cally was a calm leader, very encouraging, and enthusiastic;

Her performance of our repertoire was always fantastic! Her demeanour, when telling a story, each time she would sing Helped all of us to improve, and try to make our chords ring.

We are all truly thankful for the skills she kindly did share;

Her teaching talents were unique, and she did sincerely care. Her smile and sense of humour were so delightful to receive,
Along with her positive attitude, she taught us how to believe.

The days ahead will be challenging for every one of us we know; But Cally would want us singing, so the T.I.’s can flourish, and grow.

Ruth Dukelow

Memories of Cally:

When I first joined Chorus , Cally was so encouraging..loved how spunky she was always ready to go...loved singing beside her
She was an amazing woman..will miss her.....Joyce Hunter

Cally was such a lovely, gentle soul with a fun loving sense of humour. Her talents were many along with her ability to bring joy to all of us through music. It was always a treat to sing near her, to harmonize with her beautiful voice.  Rest In Peace and sing with the angels Cally........Susan Smart

Spending time with Cally was my greatest inspiration.Always the teacher, I knew I could accomplish my goal. I will miss my Friday mornings with her. 💞🎶🎶🎶🎶.....Donna.Mallette

Cally was the director of the TI’s when I joined in the early eighties . She was upbeat , welcoming and a lot of fun while still remaining professional . I can say that after all these decades, I never once saw Cally in a bad mood. I loved her sense of humour and quick wit . One of a kind for sure !! I am sure she and Roger are again making beautiful music together......Maureen Bryer

Cally lit up a room and we were so fortunate to sing with her every week in both chorus and quartet,  and call her friend. Her willingness to share her knowledge, and her dedication to being her very best inspired many: people gravitated to her energy and unflagging cheer, and left feeling valued and recharged......Christine Schroeder

Cally was my mentor in song. She stood by me during my audition and helped me to find my voice. I will be forever in her debt. Cally is a gentle teacher and a fabulous singer..... Muriel Franklin

Cally: A friend to us all, a helper to anyone in need, fun loving, energetic and talented, to name a few of her qualities.  Singing in a quartet with her, kept us on our toes and wanting to be better than we were the day before. I loved singing with her and never wanted it to end.  As the song says “Memories Bring Back Memories of You”  Thanks for the memories!  I will miss you immensely......Deb G

What Cally meant to me: Smooth transitions, kindness, light-heartedness, gentle guidance and grace; so much grace. A good friend and helper to everyone......Pat Cyr

Mother Teresa once said, “every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person.” Our spunky Cally knew how to share her smile and words to make people feel welcomed and accepted into the Thousand Islanders. She will forever be a treasure in our chest of memories.......Karen Koivumaki

To me Cally was like the Pied Piper to both young and old. My grandson Wyatt lost all his shyness when Cally visited and he took her by the hand to show her his playroom.....he cried when she had to leave, wanting to know when she would return......I can't recall one of PST's sing outs that Cally didn't see someone she knew or was beckoned by someone that knew her......she just relished in sharing a moment chatting with them. I know she is in a better place but I will miss her always.....Rest is peace my dear friend, love  Gidget Kaert

We  were friends  for over 30 years, one of those friends that you may not see for a while, but when you do you just take off from where you left off.  We always had something to laugh about and roomed together and drove together to many competitions.   She had a way to make you feel special.    Her joy of life and inclusiveness.   I was with her in her early days of singing barbershop, directing the chorus and her hard work only made you work harder too.   My heart is hurting.....Orma McDougall

Everyone who knew and loved Cally, will be missing her constant upbeat personality and smile. I am sure she will continue to sing in God's choir.....Marilyn Wallace

Cally was the sunshine, she loved to laugh and sing. I will miss the pat on the back and the wink to say " you did well" How she loved to make sure we had enough blush on our cheeks and lipstick on our lips ready for our performance. I will miss you.....Roz Rothwell

Cally was a lovely lady with a vivacious personality. Her amazing musical talent was truly an inspiration to me, offering many kind words of encouragement. Cally will be greatly missed......Barbara Withers

Due to the health issues and the welfare of so many of our members due to COVID-19,

rehearsals have been cancelled indefinitely.

There will be notices here as to when rehearsals  will resume.

Stay safe everyone!

A few fond memories of ICC 2019 in Sandusky, Ohio.

Although we don't know when we can sing together again,

we take pride in what we have accomplished and will always hold these memories close!
